CaseSri Roger Ramneimawi v Union of India & Ors.

Publication statusTo be published soon

The High Court of Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh considered a petition by Sri Roger Ramneimawi, a CGST officer repatriated from Imphal to his parent Mumbai zone under orders dated 22 July 2026. He sought suspension of the repatriation and relieving orders pending adjudication of OA No. 246/2026 before the CAT, Guwahati Bench.

The Court observed that both impugned orders were issued in pursuance of a 25 May 2022 letter deeming the Imphal posting a loan posting. That letter was previously challenged and dismissed by the CAT on 30 May 2022 and by the High Court in WP(C) No. 3871/2026 on 27 July 2026. Finding no grounds for interim relief, the Court refused to stay the orders, leaving the merits to the CAT.
